EGR (Eco Green Roofs Ltd) has provided a retirement home, ‘Chimes’, a magnitude of sustainable features across the estate, both on ground and roof level, bringing the benefits of the outdoors as features within the external building envelope.
EGR was approached by roofing contractor, Kingsley Roofing (Midlands) to support the design of the sustainable building features, and to supply and install the specified components across the following areas:
- Roof terrace
- Ground floor courtyard
- Residential balconies
Matt Burman, Project Manager at Lifestory said ‘The finished aesthetics of the natural environment at both roof and ground-level surpassed expectation. Both EGR and Kingsley Roofing worked collaboratively with the Principal Contractor and achieved the requirements specified in a climate that called for extra safety measures following Government guidelines”.
Incorporating sustainable components at initial design allows complete harmonious collaboration between the systems and provides the inclusion of nature that can help solve many of the problems that modern cities face (Living Roofs).
